The Department is responsible for policy formulation, co-ordination and promotion of TEVET through provision of guidelines to all TEVET providers.
The Department is also responsible for increasing stakeholder participation in the provision of TEVET and assessing the impact of TEVET programs.
Functions
Units under the Department
The department is headed by a Director who is assisted by two (2) Assistant Directors. The Department comprises of two units which are;
Entrepreneurship Development Unit
The Unit is responsible for the formulation, review and implementation of government policies on entrepreneurship skills development. Other functions of the Unit include;
Skills Development Unit
The Unit is responsible for the formulation, review and implementation of government policies on skills development. Other functions of the Unit include;
TEVET Bursary.
The department is responsible for The TEVET Bursary, which is offered to vulnerable students who are not able to pay user fees for themselves to access skills training. This is in line with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) Policy which has one of its objectives of increasing access and participation to TEVET and also having equitable access to skills training.
The TEVET Bursary is accessible to students who are accepted or enrolled at any of the TEVET Institutions under the Department. The application window opens in October every year. Eligible students can apply for a Bursary using the link this link; https://tevetbursary.mohe.gov.zm/.
