MINISTRY OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE UNDERTAKES ITS SECOND QUARTERLY REVIEW MEETING-21 TO 23 JULY 2025.

The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Technology and Science Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Eng. Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu and Directors.

The aim of this meeting is to review performance; that is review what has been accomplished over the past three months and plan the next steps. The meeting creates transparency and coordination at all levels. Additionally, quarterly meetings address both successes and challenges that have arisen during the working process.

Hon Felix Mutati said he was glad to have a performance review and it should be a way of working.

The Minister emphasised that Zambia cannot achieve meaningful socio-economic transformation without a skilled workforce with practical and industry-relevant competencies.

“When we talk of 3 million tonnes of copper, we cannot achieve it without relevant practical skills.

The Minister further outlined five (5) pillars that aligned with national goals articulated in the National Development Plan and Presidential Directives. “We need to develop measurable targets and monitoring tools of such targets, collaboration to achieve common goals, develop efficient ways of doing business, alignment of programmes to national aspirations including Presidential Directives and reviewing of progress to ensure we are not off target” he elaborated.

Eng Dr Habeenzu said aligning our targets to Vision 2030 and the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP) that place development at the centre is of vital importance. We should ensure that every intervention contributes directly to the 8NDP’s strategic development areas in agriculture, mining, tourism, manufacturing, energy, and digital innovation.”
