IRISH MINISTER IMPRESSED WITH EVELYN HONE COLLEGE DIGITAL MEDIA CREATIVITY A THRIVED TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT MINISTER MUTATI HAS UPHELD

Ministry of Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati says technology and innovation has transformed overtime through capacity creation, a level that Zambia has currently reached through collaboration.
Speaking today during a visit by the Irish Minister at the Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce, Minister Mutati commended the Irish Government for the support in digital creativity media and audio programmes at the college anchored on the collaboration between Ireland and Zambia.
He believed that Zambia was ready to continue working with Ireland and further accomplish support of skills development that can address issues of water – irrigation and sustainability for a convenient – cost effective people centered. The Minister hence called on his counterpart to extend support on a new line of cooperation to resolve water challenges through skills development and technology. He believed a curricular can be developed to impart skills and create capacities in students that will in future manage either situations of on – off rains and contain future droughts.
The Minister recalled the 19Th Century historic – heritage embraced education support of Christian Missionary Faith ties with both Countries hence called for a continuity expansion of the cooperation appreciating the creed of Saint Patricks’ celebrations ahead traced on long-standing relations of the Church and two Governments.
Meanwhile the Minister is grateful that the Irish Minister delivered, through the WFP, a resource for Zambia to procure relief food for the people amidst the challenges of drought a great concern by Irish.
And visiting Ireland Minister of Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’Brien is grateful with the creativity demonstrated by the Evelyn Hone College students pursuing Creative Digital Media and Digital Music programmes pioneered by the Irish Government on collaborative fronts. He believes the students remained future leaders and entrepreneurs working hard to realise the magnificent potential of Zambia. Mr. O’Brien further commended the college management and lecturers for efforts shown to transform students’ skills in digital creativity programmes.
Minister O’Brien said ahead of the Sixty years of Zambia’s independence, Ireland’s 100 years’ journey saw a long tussle path however developed strengthened relations with many Countries in Africa that wheeled on its economic development.
He, agreed, alluding to Minister Mutati’s Government collaborative ties with the Irish – Zambia Government historic journey importantly is shared on a clear statement of intent by the Irish people to remain strengthened and continued on extending cooperation.
He delightfully commended President Hakainde Hichilema for the exhibited leadership not only looked from Africa perspective but also across the world.
Reading his speech, Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce Acting Principal Ignatius Ndabala said in 2008 the college signed a memorandum of understanding with the Irish Belmont College of Further Education in order to establish a partnership for effective collaboration, sharing of knowledge – skills, and experience through collaborative projects.
The Principal described the backdrop collaboration founded through the Irish Aid Strategic Aid Cooperation that gave birth to Creative Digital Media in Zambia (CDMZ) hence in January 2014 a Diploma programme in Creative Digital Media was introduced following the earlier signed MoU.
He said the two existing collaboration saw yet again the introduction of a Diploma course in Audio and Music Technology.
The Irish Minister visited Zambia to appreciate collaborative ties on a number of projects in the Country inclusive the supported digital media and audio programmes at the Zambian public TEVET college.
