SEIZE ENTREPRENEURIAL JOB OPPORTUNITIES – PS URGES 2,496 EVELYN HONE GRADUANTS.

Technology and Science Permanent Secretary Dr Brilliant Habeenzu has commended the Evelyn Hone College management for demonstrating high calibre work outputs and academic pilgrimage in providing skills to the needs of industry.
Speaking during the 56th graduation ceremony, today, Dr Habeenzu recognized and appreciated the 60 year existence of the college ably responding and skilfully to a great mass of students channeled to industry and largely contributing to economic development founded on its entreprenuerial and innovation bedrock for economic transformation and job creation.
Dr Habeenzu applauded the student’s home made innovation online platform a brain child of the college that is optimising innovation and augmenting to the academic needs of the college inclusive many other successes.
PS Habeenzu said with a newly installed mangement board the government under the leadership of His Excellence President Hakainde Hichilema will continue to provide an enabling policy and legal environment hence reviewing the TEVET policy that will allow the college to thrive and elevated to a Polytechnic university.
He urged the board and management to engage the ministry and collectively define solutions to some of the challenges such as infrastructure improvement in order to maintain a conducive learning and quality education driven by a quality curriculum.
PS Habeenzu urged the graduants to appreciate their education investment realised on demonstrated strong will, focus, and discipline to the next exciting phase of life.
Dr Habeenzu challenged the graduates to take a step and venture into the world of entrepreneurship.
And Evelyn Hone College Principal Cephus Chabu said for 60 years the college has continued scoring positive development in delivering quality training hence since its inception it has graduated 27, 831 inclusive the newly graduated 2,496 graduants.
Speaking at the graduation event college board chairperson Dr. Daniel Chuunga expressed his gratitude to celebrate a jubilee graduation anchored on exerted efforts and growth contributed to the student’s skills acquisition.
He commend the government for the support through the bursary facilities that are helping cushion student’s financial challenges.
Board chairperson encouraged the students to embark on today’s reliable entrepreneurial activities and live meaningful livelihoods.
And Moving a vote of thanks a graduant student Benard Nkweto described the achieved academic path on a proverbial adage; “it takes the whole village to raise a child”, appreciating collective efforts that moulded the now the skilled students who received support not only from the college faculty but also friends and largely the government.
